Jonathan Axtell
Founder, Head of Learning Strategy
For the last 10 years, Jonathan has designed and built businesses that enable people to live better lives through learning. In 2016, he started Creature Learning with his good friend, Jesse Sleamaker, to bring a fresh new perspective on learning design. Jonathan now acts as the leader of Creature Learning, moving projects from inception through to completion.
Over the five years of Creature Learning’s growth and development, he’s worked with dozens of inspiring clients, having designed in 20+ LMS systems and authoring tools. This lead creature is also a skilled strategist, facilitator, designer, and digital learning experience producer.
Jonathan’s inner creature relies on music, contributing to his community, and being outdoors.
Sam Axtell
Head of Design
Sam is a designer and artist based in Los Angeles, California. Her experience ranges from creative marketing and content creation for educational programming to community outreach and education projects. She has worked in digital imaging, video production, sound, writing and sculpture with a particular interest in the intersection of art, craft and social justice. Her goals as a creative are to produce high-quality content and bring ideas to life and, most importantly, greater understanding through visual communication
Similar to her husband Jonathan’s inner creature, Sam’s relies on time in nature, and also the endless number of creative and DIY projects she has to keep her hands busy.
Her past work experience includes: Headspace, Dave, Toucan, and Intercom
